Long track, Motocross & Speedway
Turner Engineering as an engineering company has a background of interest in motorsport at a personal level. We have followed Formula 1, Cart, Superbikes, Motocross and Speedway for a number of years and attended many major motorsport events, including the Indianapolis 500 on a number of occasions. As a result of the television coverage particularly on Sky Sports this offers an excellent opportunity to promote Turner Engineering at an international level.
Long Track Joonas Kylmakorpi, 2010 World Long Track champion and one of our Eastbourne Eagles sponsored speedway riders for the 2011 season has retained his Long Track world championship status for 2011. Photo taken at Morizes, France prize giving ceremony.
Eastbourne Eagles Speedway We can honestly say that some of the Speedway matches that we have attended, including the British Grand Prix at Cardiff Millenium Stadium rank as some of the best and most exciting motorsport events of the current era. Speedway certainly has the potential to recapture the 80.000 + audiences that were attracted to the sport in it's earlier days and is regarded by many as the best kept secret in motorsport. Sky Sports Television coverage of Speedway really captured our imagination and made us realise that there is a world of motorsport that companies such as ourselves can become actively involved in as sponsors without having to be a large international corporation.
For the 2011 season the Eastbourne Eagles have retained the services of Cameron Woodward and Joonas Kylmakorpi who are again riding in the main body of the team this season. A promising Australian rider who proved his worth last year. Cameron will also be riding in Sweden and Poland this season as is Joonas. . The Eastbourne Eagles were runners up in the Elite League 2011 season.

End of season young England v Australia teams at Arlington The Australian team sponsored by V8engines.eu and captained by Cameron Woodward were the winners after a night of very close and exciting racing
For the 2011 season we remain a sponsor of Ricky Kling who has moved to the Bell Vue Aces in Manchester. A former Swedish under 21 champion with a promising speedway career. Currently riding in the Swedish, English and Poish leagues.
Motocross Motocross has been a passion of Richard Turner since his younger days and he is still riding today although not competitively. These days he is the mechanic at race meetings for his son James and his main interest is in bike setup and tuning. 2011 season again not much happening due to work commitments but a couple of end of season meetings were very encouraging and we intend to get ready over the winter for the 2012 season. 2010 season has been a write off due to finishing a mechanical engineering Phd and gap year travels for James. . 2009 season has seen several excellent results. A 5th overal in the A group at Rusper at a very wet and muddy meeting. A 4th overal at Toddington and a 3rd overal at the Rusper meeting in July. 2008 season, towards the end a number of very succesful results were achieved with James coming third overall in one meeting and a week later at the next meeting winning his class out right. Something to build on.
